Virtual events and activities for Toronto Newcomer Day 2021

Every year, Toronto celebrates the city’s diverse communities at the annual Toronto Newcomer Day event. This year, activities and events to welcome newcomers will be held on May 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This important community-building annual event, held every year in May, welcomes newcomers to Toronto, provides them with a range of information and celebrates their contributions to the city.

This year, the virtual event will offer events including an engagement session with Toronto Mayor John Tory, an information fair, a virtual city hall tour and entertainment including a showcase of newcomer artists.

The City of Toronto invites newcomers residents and all Torontonians to attend the town hall session with Mayor Tory to learn more about the municipal government and ask any questions. This is being held from 1.30-2.30 p.m. Register to attend the event.

Toronto Newcomer Day includes an information fair that promotes newcomers’ knowledge of programs and services available. For a list of exhibitors click here.

The virtual tour of city hall will highlight many features including a peek into the Mayor’s Office and views from the 27th Floor Observation Deck.The virtual tour will be available on May 25.

Cultural events will include a showcase of newcomer artists including author Koom Kankesan, musical performances by Medusa and Moneka Arabic Jazz and other online events showcasing films, music and discussions from May 24-28.
